Three Steps for a Successful Solopreneur Brand
How can you stand out in an increasingly competitive marketplace when you don’t have the resources and name recognition of a global brand like Apple, Amazon or The Coca-Cola Company?
First of all, don’t compare yourself to other businesses. Stop focusing your attention outward and look inward. Pinpoint what truly sets you apart. Then, incorporate your personal, unique value proposition – or superpower – into the overall experience with your brand.
Your Superpower
As a solopreneur CEO, you’re not only the face, but also the hands and legs of your business. In essence, you are the brand.
That’s why it’s critical to discover your superpower and understand what makes you, uniquely you. Determine where your strengths, life, and work values, as well as passions, intersect. Then, define your superpower in a few descriptive words that become your mantra.
Your Offer and Ideal Client
The next step will be to align your superpower with your offer and ideal client. Research and test how you will achieve product/market fit. Describe specific characteristics of your ideal client, their values that align with yours and how you can attract them to your business.
Your Brand
Finally, incorporate a consistent look, feel and customer experience in your branding, positioning and messaging. Everything should be in alignment with your superpower. Build your audience. Remember, when you unleash your superpower, people will see your confidence and expertise shine through. Customers will want to do business with you and your brand.
While these three steps may sound easy, they aren’t. It helps to have someone in your corner. A business builder/mentor who asks the hard questions, guides you and offers tools, strategies and support systems.
